Project scope template: what is in, what is out, and what done means
A free project scope template: goal, deliverables, what is out of scope, acceptance checks, milestones, revision rounds and how changes are handled. Copy it with a filled example.
Write down what you will deliver, what you will not, and how you will both know it is done. Then changes are easy to spot.
When to use it
At the start of any project with a client or a stakeholder outside your team. Agree it before work starts. Point back to it when new asks come in.

Tips
- Out of scope matters most. List what people often assume.
- Make acceptance checkable. Yes-or-no checks, not "looks good."
- One approver per milestone. A name, not "the team."
- Version it. If scope changes, save version 2 and say what changed.

Questions people ask
Scope of work or statement of work?
A statement of work is often the contract version with prices and legal terms. This scope is the plain-language core of it.
How detailed should it be?
Detailed enough that a new person could tell whether a request is in or out.
Work you can trust, without redoing it.
Your team gets feedback before work reaches you, or your client.
