Goal check-in template: a weekly five-minute look at each goal
A goal check-in template for weekly OKR and goal reviews: current number, confidence, what moved it, what is blocking it and the one thing to do next. With a filled example.
For each goal: where the number is, how confident you are, what moved it, and the one thing you will do next. Five minutes a week.
When to use it
Every week, for each team goal or key result. Use it in a short meeting, or as a written update the owner posts on the same day each week.

Why confidence matters
The number tells you where you are. Confidence tells you where you think you will end up. A drop in confidence is an early warning, often weeks before the number shows it.
Tips
- Same day, same time. A habit beats a perfect format.
- One thing next week. Not five.
- Ask about the work. "What moved it?" stops a goal from becoming just a number on a slide.
Where M-Tracker fits
M-Tracker links tasks and projects to goals and key results, so "what moved it" comes from the work itself. You can see how much of the week went to each goal, and which linked work is still open. No screenshots and no activity tracking.

Questions people ask
How long should a check-in take?
Five minutes per goal. If it takes longer, it has turned into a planning meeting.
What if the number does not change for weeks?
Look at the work linked to it. Either no work is pointed at the goal, or the work is the wrong work.
Work you can trust, without redoing it.
Your team gets feedback before work reaches you, or your client.
