Weekly business review template
A WBR template built for decisions: numbers with sources, what is off track, decisions needed, and last week's actions. Pre-read plus a 30-minute agenda.
A weekly business review is a short meeting where the people who run the business look at the numbers, decide what to do about the ones that are off, and leave with owners and dates. It is not a status meeting. The template has two parts: a pre-read everyone reads before, and a 30-minute agenda.
When to use it
Once a week, same slot, for a leadership team or a team that owns a set of numbers. If your company has fewer than ten people, this may be your only recurring leadership meeting. That is fine.
Part 1: The pre-read (sent the day before)

A filled decision block
DECISIONS NEEDED THIS WEEK1. Setup completion is at 47% against a 60% target with 7 weeks left. Pace so far: 1 point a week. Pace needed: 2. Options: (A) Move two people from the newsletter to the onboarding flow for four weeks. (B) Accept 52% this quarter and reset the target. Recommendation: A, because the newsletter can pause and the goal cannot. → Decided: A. Owner: Priya. Reassignment done by Friday.
Rules that make it work
- Numbers have sources and times. "From the dashboard, Monday 9am." Nobody argues about where a number came from.
- Only off-track items get discussed. Green numbers get a nod.
- Every decision item has a recommendation. The meeting is faster when someone has already thought.
- Updates that need no decision go at the bottom, and nobody reads them aloud.
- Read back at the end. This is where you catch "I thought Sam had that."
Where M-Tracker fits
The decisions become tasks in M-Tracker, with owners, dates, and the pre-read attached as context, and linked to the goal they serve. Next week's "last week's actions" section is the task list. Goal progress comes from the objectives dashboard. The pre-read is written from real work, not reconstructed on Sunday night.
