A night shift from 10 PM to 6:30 AM with a 30 minute break is 8 hoursA shift that crosses midnight10 PM12 AM2 AM4 AM6:30 AM30 min break8:30 on the clock minus 30 minutes = 8:00 worked (8.00 in decimal). When the end time is earlier than the start, the calculator counts it as the next day.

Between two times. Enter a start time and an end time, and take off any break. Good for a shift, a meeting, or a task.

Between two dates. Enter a start date and time and an end date and time. Good for anything that runs over several days, like how long a ticket was open.

Why the decimal number is useful

If you bill by the hour or enter hours into payroll, you need a decimal: 8:25 is 8.42 hours, not 8.25. Divide the minutes by 60 to convert.

Where M-Tracker fits
