The math

A full-time year is 40 hours times 52 weeks. That is 2,080 hours.

So divide the salary by 2,080. A $60,000 salary is $60,000 ÷ 2,080 = $28.85 an hour.

A quick check you can do in your head: halve the salary and drop the thousands. $60,000 is about $30 an hour. $80,000 is about $40.
