SOP generator
Describe how you do something, in your own words. Get clear steps someone new can follow.
How to use it
- Describe the process the way you would explain it to a new teammate. Messy is fine.
- Say who will follow it, like "a new account manager in their first week."
- List the tools it uses.
- Press Write my SOP. Read the Gaps to fill. Those are the questions a new person would ask.
What a good SOP has
- Purpose and scope. One line on why it exists and when it applies.
- Before you start. The access, files and information you need.
- Steps. One action each, starting with a verb. "Send the welcome email from the shared inbox."
- What good looks like. Checks that say the job is done right.
- If something goes wrong. The common problems and who to ask.
- Owner and review date. Someone keeps it up to date.
Write it for the first-timer
The person who knows the process is the worst person to check the SOP. They fill gaps without noticing. Give the draft to someone new and watch them follow it. Every question they ask is a missing line.
Where M-Tracker fits
An SOP is the brief for repeat work. In M-Tracker, each task can carry its done checks, and finished work is checked against them before it reaches the manager. That is how an SOP gets used, not just filed. No screenshots and no activity tracking.
Try M-Tracker free14-day trial. No credit card. No employee surveillance.
Questions people ask
Is it free?
Yes, 5 SOPs a day with no account. Your text is not stored.
What is the difference between an SOP and a checklist?
An SOP explains how and why. A checklist is the short version you tick off. Many teams keep both.
How long should an SOP be?
As short as it can be while a new person can still follow it. Most fit on one or two pages.
Work you can trust, without redoing it.
Your team gets feedback before work reaches you, or your client.
