Two ways to use it

Acceptance criteria for a one-page leadership report, with one check still openDone checks: leadership reportIt fits on one page.It opens with the decision leadership needs to make. The three findings that bear on that decision, each withits number.Every chart has a title and a source.Dana has approved it.Each check is ayes-or-no questionanyone can answer.Check 3 is open, so thework is not done. Nobodyhas to argue about it.

Write a user story. Paste the request in plain words, even a customer complaint. Say who the user is if you know. You get a title, the "As a… I want… so that…" line, three to six acceptance criteria, what is out of scope, and what it depends on.

Check my ticket. Paste a ticket you already wrote. It checks the five things a ready ticket has (outcome, user, done checks, scope, dependencies) and gives you a rewritten version.

The user story format

As a [user], I want [capability], so that [benefit].

Then acceptance criteria: statements someone can test with yes or no. "Given I am a Team plan admin, when I open Billing, then I see my last 12 invoices." Unknowns stay as [placeholders] so nobody builds on a guess.

Example

From: "Team plan customers keep asking where to find their invoices."

Title: Download past invoices from the billing page

As a Team plan admin, I want to see and download my past invoices, so that I can file them without asking support.

Acceptance criteria: the billing page lists the last 12 invoices; each has a PDF download; the page loads in under [time]; other plans are unchanged.

Out of scope: changing the invoice design.

Works for any team

Marketing, support and ops teams use Jira too. A content request or a process change can be a user story: who needs it, what they need, and how you will know it is done.

How M-Tracker helps

Where M-Tracker fits

A clear story is half the job. The other half is checking the finished work against it. M-Tracker adds a panel to every Jira issue: add the finished work, press Get instant review, and see which acceptance criteria are met before anyone else does. It stays private to the person who asked.

Try M-Tracker free14-day trial. No credit card. No employee surveillance.
